I am naturally friendly, with a personable and positive attitude that has allowed me to interact and successfully collaborate with managers, C-suite executives, and software engineers.
As a collaborator, I always ensure that my users are heard and that their opinions matter. With that being said, I am a firm believer in transparency, which builds trust and communication. If there is a design or implementation that someone does not like, I am very open to criticism. In my belief, I can only grow if I learn from mistakes. Having graduated from an engineering school, I have learned to analyze mistakes by asking, "How did this happen?", "Where did I go wrong?", and "What can I do to ensure this does not happen again?"
I am naturally empathetic, which has given me the ability to step into the user's perspective. My engineering and psychology background enables me to speak the language of both a developer and a user experience researcher, while simultaneously considering the needs of stakeholders and users.
A creative thinker must be meticulous in their work. With that being said, I am very detail-oriented and enjoy delving deeply into design problems, considering every little detail.
As a designer, I am open-minded and continuously learn new frameworks and languages to better realize the stakeholder's vision. I am never afraid of a new challenge but instead, openly welcome it. With experience working in startups and large corporations across multiple industries for 6 years, ambiguous and daunting tasks are not unheard of in my line of work.
Recently, I have been reorganizing my thoughts and publishing them to my blog on Medium. Please check out my latest article, Curb Your Toilet.
